1. Scope and Contact
This policy applies to the Formu app for iPadOS and macOS. Formu is operated by JIDONG GENG. For privacy questions or requests regarding your personal information, email keithgjd@qq.com.
2. How Information Is Handled
Formu does not require an account. Song titles, authors, chords, annotations, drafts, instrument arrangements, file records, favorites, and display preferences are stored by default in the app's local directory, and are used only to edit, save, find, display, and restore your charts.
3. Optional iCloud Sync
iCloud sync is off by default. Only after you turn it on does Formu place chart files into the app's iCloud Documents container, synced by Apple through the Apple account on your device. Formu never obtains your Apple account credentials. You can turn sync off at any time in Formu's settings.
4. Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or track you across apps. Apple iCloud, the system file picker, or the system share sheet only process your files when you enable iCloud or actively choose files, export, or share. The current version contains no advertising, analytics, or profiling SDKs, and there is no Formu server that receives your charts.
5. Retention and Deletion
Local charts and settings are kept until you delete them, empty the trash, or uninstall the app; iCloud files are kept until you delete them in Formu or in iCloud. You can view, export, correct, and delete your charts directly in the app.
6. Children
Formu is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal information through Formu's online services. Where required by local law, minors should use the app under the guidance of a parent or guardian.
7. Your Choices and Policy Updates
You can turn off iCloud sync, export or delete your content, and contact the privacy email above to request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, or withdrawal of consent. If this policy changes materially, we will provide prominent notice in the app and update this page accordingly.
This page should stay consistent with the privacy policy inside the app. When the policy is updated, the effective date and the in-app version are updated together.
